llanidloesOnly around 3.5 hours from London (Euston) and 2.5 from Manchester by road or train, yet a world away, deep in rural Wales (even the local station is charming), the venue is set amidst the rolling hills surrounding the historic and pretty town of Llanidloes. The town often features in the top ten best places to live in Britain – a picturesque and sleepy place, with lots of characterful small independent shops and a historic half-timbered market house.

Just a couple of miles from the town, our home will be in two beautiful barn conversions, hafod-and-the-courtyardadjacent to the traditional farmhouse. The heating is from renewable biomass and drinking water is from the farm’s own pure spring water source. The barns surround the old farmyard, now a lovely space with gardens, a stream, and an outdoor dining area for those warmer days. There is also a gym and Finnish sauna. In the fields below the barns there is a swimming and boating pond, plus a camp fire area with log seating.

The venue is set on 200 acres of farmland with extensive views and plenty of walks in the hills and valleys right from the doorstep. Maps are provided or some walks can be led. Beautiful Llyn Clywedog reservoir is a just a short drive away.

OutingsWales 2017 Weekend Yoga Retreat

We will have an optional walk in the Hafren Forest to the source of the River Severn (7 miles) for the group. There are fabulous views to the coast and Snowdonia on a clear day. There are also walks directly from Garth Barns including into Llanidloes following part of the long distance Glyndwr Way. It’s worth remembering to bring walking boots or good trainers and waterproofs, although we will hope for glorious June!
