Does advanced mean inaccessible? Do backbends really ‘open the heart?’ In this workshop, learn how to make vrishikasana (scorpion pose), natarajasana (dancer pose), and Eka Pada raja Kapotasana (full king pigeon pose) and others work for you. Develop the strength and awareness to maintain the integrity of your centre and learn modifications and propping strategies to happily enjoy these tough postures and explore their emotional resonance. This workshop is suitable for those with happy backs, some practice experience, and comfort in being upside down with the assistance of a partner or the wall.
Are you using your yoga practice as best as you can to care for yourself, or are you just doing what the teacher tells you to do? In this workshop, you will find out what self-care actually is and how you can practise it in flow yoga. You will explore new ways to check-in before practice, set intentions and act on them, and make choices that suit your individual needs while in a mixed-levels class. You will expand your yoga toolkit to include new techniques of self-massage, no-fuss restorative postures, and embodied meditation. You will learn how to turn self-practice or any yoga class of any style, even a sweaty level 2-3, into an opportunity for care and compassion. Open to all levels.
