Five Essential Practices – In-Person Series

A five-week series of extended classes for teachers and curious students. Expect a combination of flow, self-massage, somatic inquiry, breath, meditation, and rest. After practice, there will be a group discussion and Q&A to help you integrate your learnings. Audio recordings of each practice will be made available for all, so no worries if you miss a week. If you cannot make the live sessions at all, book in for audio recording participation.
Week One: Focus
Mindfulness of the body, and how to use meditative focal points within your practice
Week Two: Imagination
How to use visualisations, mantras, statements of intentions, and poses as embodied metaphors
Week Three: Breath
How to use your breath in new ways as we flow and rest to hack your nervous system based on current research
Week Four: Sensation
How to use poses, movements, and isometric contractions to feel different regions of your body and bring you into the present moment inspired by current science of interoception
Week Five: Relaxation
How to use body reflexes and nervous system hacks to manipulate your mood and energy through resting poses, touch, and self-massage
