A common question from my beginners is where to look? This can be a tricky one as it may change depending on how long you’ve been practicing and the tradition in which you are practicing. However, as a beginner, I think it is most sensible to take the strain out of the neck and learn to make the rest of the shape first. And in general, most people gaze past the front fingertips in warrior two. Above is a handy guide on where to look in warrior two, side angle, and triangle poses.
For downward-facing dog pose, I find it best to look towards the knees, thighs, or lower legs to keep the neck long and the shoulders wide. There is no precise answer as every body differs. Seek the sensation of openness and release rather than any fixed point.
Keep practicing and let me know how it goes.
