Yoga Alignment: Myths, Misconceptions, and Missed Opportunities
Is there a right and wrong way to do a pose? Are you confused by conflicting alignment cues? Unsure of when and if to tuck your tailbone or rotate your shoulders? Learn how to practise and teach yoga asana informed by contemporary understanding of alignment and anatomy, applied to your unique body and intentions. We will learn how to avoid confusion on the mat and experience the exciting possibilities that emerge when we let go of alignment absolutes and yoga dogma. (2 hours and 15 minutes)
- How to open up new alignment options for the most common of standing poses such as downward-facing dog, triangle pose, revolved triangle pose, wheel pose, and other confusing favourites
- How to practise and teach with adaptable anchors of stability and alignment from which range of motion and individual pose expression can be explored
- How to explore the intentions of postures, and methods to work with internal and external goals

Beyond Stretching
Is your yoga practice a lot of stretching? Is it working for you? This workshop will help you develop diversity in your stretching techniques, whilst shattering myths and misconceptions. (1 hour and 30 minutes)
- Through a new approach to warm-ups, standing postures, and cool-downs, you will learn the important difference between passive flexibility and active mobility.
- We will identify common areas of weakness and overstretch, and what to do in and out of class to find balance.
- We will answer common questions like: What makes someone more flexible than me? How long should I stretch? If I get strong will I be tight?

Arm Balance Challenge
Let’s have a fun practice of difficult yoga postures and do so in a way that is skilful, mindful, and compassionate. . Practice these shapes in all orientations to gravity and re-imagine how arm balances might look in your body. Beginning with the core and working outward through hip flexibility and shoulder strength, we will embrace together the challenge and joy that these postures provide. (1 hour and 45 minutes)
This workshop will help you find your entry point into arm balances such as
- bakasana and bakasana variations
- side plank and side plank variations
Although the practice might not be easy, it will be accessible.

Upside Down
Find your unique path to getting up, staying up, and getting down in one piece. We will begin with customised preparations based on your combination of physical and mental barriers and learn to get up with the wall or with nothing but air around you. (1 hour and 40 minutes)

- headstand
- passive and easily accessible inversions.
